Voices of Europe: Travelling Contemporary Ethno and Art Festival

The main intent of the festival is to show the survivorship and the
effects of the folk art and the tradition on the contemporary art in the
partner countries. Accordingly we will not organize a tradition-keeper or
folklore festival, but such a traveling contemporary art program series,
that based on the cultural traditions of partner countries, but reflects
the world today. First of all we want to include young artists in the
project, because we are interested to know what does the cultural identity
and tradition to them mean, or rather how does it appear in their art and
productivity.
Target audience: general audience, children, young people

Art and activity sections:
- Music: (orchestras, DJs) Invitation of bands from the field of ethno.
Chiefly the invitation of such bands that playing musical settings of
folklore and ethno themes.
- Exhibitions: (photo, design, fashion) We search the effects of the folk
art on the present-day fashion and form cultures. The works of such
designers are chosen they carry on the tradition of the folk handcraft
either in their work methods or in the topic and style of their creations.
-Dance: Invitation of contemporary dance groups that make performances
based on folk dance
-Film: (animation, documentary) The introduction (presentation,
demonstration) of the folk tradition of the partner countries and its
effect on the contemporary art.
-Literature: (readings, story and folk tale telling) Public readings of
literary works and the existence of the folk tale tradition today.
-Workshops: Organization of international workshops. Informal conversation
with artists. Direct contact with diverseness of the cultural tradition.
The cognition and the experience of the cultural diversity.
